The Great Houston Housewife Experiment
posted by conebaby on Monday February 1st 2:03pm
I ironed his shirt and jacket last night. We woke today for oatmeal and coffee; he kissed me on the cheek, and walked out the front door. My little exploration geologist! And my life as a Texas housewife begins.
I’ll let you peek at my “to-do” list (and my progress) for the day:
Laundry Bathroom Bills/Rent Library? Visitor’s Bureau Order wireless router Resume – update Call P & P Call AK – script Vacuum
Of course I also walked Sandy (or she walked me), surfed the net for job prospects, did the breakfast dishes, and changed the sheets on the bed. I’m in sweats, not a shirtdress, pearls, and heels – do I lose points for that? It is strange being unemployed because I have always worked. I don’t really like not working; it doesn’t suit me because I need more structure. These endless hours seem ripe for getting things done but, for me, the more time on my hands the more idle they become. I guess I am just a deadline kind of person. So here I sit at noon on Monday, poised to continue crossing things off of my list (a list that doesn’t include “blogging”) but paying perhaps too close attention to the latest rerun of CSI on Spike. Therefore I am pleased to announce my new “Houston Housewife Experiment” series, which will last only as long as I am living under my husband’s roof, dammit. I’m not sure if this will end up being a really inspired blog theme or just a bunch of posts about housework and trying not to eat all of the ice cream that's in the freezer while I’m home all day. With ice cream in the freezer. It's in there right now.
Get feed.

What flavor??
Skinny Cow ice cream bars AND Skinny Cow ice cream sandwhiches!
It depends, what color shirtdress and heels? HA
Doesn't someone in the place have an unsecured Wireless Router to jump on?
Hope Sandy is doing better......
Funny you should mention the wireless router - I spent half the day (again) online and on the phone w/ our cable provider. They told me to order the router online only NONE OF THE LINKS ON THEIR SITE WORKS. It took four customer service reps to figure out I could walk a couple of blocks and pick one up.
Sandy is feeling better - off to the vet tomorrow for a checkup!
