Goin' Fishin'

posted by conebaby on Saturday May 30th 4:43am

Josh hit a thesis-writing milestone and tomorrow we are heading out for an overnight camping trip, most likely on the Chena River.  It's been kind of drizzly but we are both looking forward to some quiet time on our own: a little food and wine, lots of fishing, and maybe a good book (I'm reading A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalaichan Trail by Bill Bryson).  We got a new tent, a Eureka Tetragon 5, that needs testing after being waterproofed.

I'll also be taking some time to outline an exciting two weeks of posts - some thoughts about the upcoming wedding and of course more details about the three-week, 5500+ mile road trip across North America that we're about to take.  Next weekend I'm heading to the Chatinika River with friends for a three-day canoe trip that I am positive will provide much blog-worthy material.  Oh, and I have a little surprise up my sleeve that I think you guys might enjoy...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sounds like your really having fun, and trying to fit everything in at last minute...wonderful. Some beautiful photos you posted...thanks. Gram keeps asking me if you guys are on your way yet...everyday she asks, she relly can't wait till her rebel is home. We love you guys!

My husband and I recently moved from Alaska to New York to Houston. We're tired. Follow me on twitter http://twitter.com/snowcones. I enjoy writing, spending time outdoors, yoga, and my favorite drink is a dirty martini (thanks Grandpa V!). I live with my geologist husband and our yellow lab, Sandy.
