That's the end of that story...

It's almost a relief. Never again will I have to watch Terrance Roberts or Daryl Watkins again. I'm through with Nichols too. That guy passed up so many shots last night. See you later. See you later forever. Nice way to go out, by dogging it for 35 minutes and getting out-hustled by a clearly less talented team.
What really makes me sick... Syracuse played their worst game in months. They were terrible. They were tired and uninspired. They didn't get back on defense, they didn't attack the glass, they committed stupid fouls, one after another. Rautins tweaked his leg early and was on the bench much of the game. Meanwhile Clemson is making bank shot 3's and 30 footers as the shot clock expires.
All this, yet they almost beat Clemson on their home court? Clemson is terrible. Bottom line, Syracuse missed a nice opportunity. At the very least they didn't totally embarass themselves at the hands of an ACC team. They really should've won. If this game was at the Carrier Dome Syracuse wins easily.
Josh Wright was TERRIBLE all game long. Untimely turnovers, just handing it over to the Tigers, from the one player on the team who should be the best at protecting the basketball. With just under 3 minutes left and Syracuse down only 4 points Wright intentionally fouls their best free throw shooter. What was he doing?!?!? A wide open three pointer at the end of regulation to redeem himself? Never a chance. Then again, you knew Nichols wasn't wanting to take that shot.
So the Nichols/Roberts/Watkins era is over at Syracuse. It's been a long time coming. Maybe now this program can overachieve again instead of constantly disappointing. Bring on Dontae Green, Scoop Jardine, Johnny Flynn, Rick Jackson and Scott Williams. Put them together with Rautins, Harris and Devo and we might just have a top 10 team again. It still might be two years away though. That is, unless Josh Wright plans on transferring.
