Syracuse Out? Huh?

Has there been a horrible mistake? Did CBS Sports miss something? Did I miss something? They just announced the 65th team on the Selection Show and I'm pretty sure I didn't hear Syracuse's name called.
This is a team that went 22-10 and 10-6 in the Big East. No Big East team with 20 wins overall and 10 wins in conference has ever not been selected. There MUST be a mistake.

I'm pretty sure I heard Villanova and Marquette's names called. Syracuse finished ahead of those teams in the conference standings. Syracuse won at Marquette in their only meeting and split with Villanova. There MUST be a mistake.
This Syracuse team played their way into the tournament going 7-3 in their last ten games, beating the hottest team in the country by 14 along the way. Georgetown won 15 of their final 16 games on their way to a Big East regular season & tournament title. Their only loss during this stretch was to Syracuse. There MUST be a mistake here. Greg Gumbel?
Now I'm looking at teams that made it. And I am certain an error has been made. Take a look at Syracuse's resume compared to some of these jokers...
Syracuse's resume:

Key losses: Miami, Wake Forest (twice)
Not even to mention the fact that Duke is a 6 seed and Virginia Tech is a 5 seed. Tell me how this is the resume of a #5 seed let alone a team that make the dance.
THERE MUST BE SOME HORRIBLE MISTAKE!
Every single talking-head on ESPN (except for Doug Gottlieb who did have them in on Saturday night) is saying that Syracuse should've been in. Every one (except Gottlieb).
Obiously when the selection committee was transferring the list of 65 teams there was a glitch that resulting in Stanford being placed on the list instead of Syracuse.
But wait... now I'm watching ESPN 2 and they are airing the N.I.T. Selection Show. There are two guys I've never heard of on my screen along with Stacey King unveiling the brackets. I'm pretty sure I just heard them call Syracuse. Someone please tell me there has been a mistake?
Apparently not. South Alabama is coming to the Dome.
Wondering what Jim Boeheim has to say?
Get feed.

Several observations...
1 Gottlieg is a thief. Enough said there.
2 Why does everyone call the lost to Drexel and Wichita St key loses? St Johns is a key lost but those other two teams were pretty good.
3 I believe there were two other times, BC and Seton Hall, teams with 10-6 records from the Big East did not dance.
4 SU should have been more consistent through out the year and it would not come down to eenie meenie minni moe......
