Bonds Ties Aaron... But here comes A-Rod
posted by Max Power on Saturday August 4th 11:35pm
Barry Bonds has finally tied a record that has stood for over 30 years by belting his #755th career home run on Saturday night to tie Hank Aaron at the top of the all-time list. Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez hit his 500th homer and became the youngest player to ever reach that mark. Perhaps in 10 years A-Rod will top Aaron and Bonds. He should crack the top 20 by the end of the month of August becoming the 4th Yankee to crack this elite list shown below.

Some interesting thoughts on this list...
Isn't it amazing that Ken Griffey Jr. is #6 all-time? At one time he was a cinch for the all-time lead. Still, with all the injuries that have plagued his career, it's impressive he's as high as he is with a chance to move up into the top 4 or maybe even 3 in the next few years. Another great thing about Griffey being so high on the list is that he is one of the few sluggers of the steroids era who is regarded as having played clean. Can't say that about Sosa, McGwire, Bonds, or...
Rafael Palmeiro??? Is #10 all-time? Hard to believe he isn't a lock for the Hall of Fame. Chances are though, with the way he went out, and the fact that he did it through attrition, that his day in Cooperstown may never come.
