The Frontenac c.1905

The Frontenac Steamboat is pictured below circa 1905 at Taughannock Falls on Cayuga Lake. In 1907, the steamboat would sink to the floor of Cayuga Lake.

Don Quan, an expert on Finger Lakes Steamboats offers the following analysis of the photo:

I can't tell what the boat at the end of the dock is, but it is either the Mohawk or the Iroquois. Both boats had a similar appearance after 1905 and even during the days when they were on the lake, people got the two confused. The photo was taken prior to the installation of searchlights on the pilot houses of the Mohawk and Iroquois. It comes down to unless you read the name on the bow or stern of the boat, you don't know which one it is.
